The Business Link service is providing invaluable support to people starting, running or growing businesses in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly, Devon & Somerset.
We are now looking to recruit Business Development Managers in our busy Plymouth office. They will join a newly established team to undertake relationship management/business development activity with MD’s and senior directors of growth oriented or ambitious local businesses to acquire new, and retain existing users of the Business Link service.
The Business Development Managers will need to have a background in B2B support or advisory services primarily at an SME level. They should have a comprehensive understanding of the key factors affecting owner managers wanting to grow their businesses. One of these roles will include an element of team coordination, therefore we are looking for someone who can provide the motivation, leadership and planning activity for this new team.
You must be able to demonstrate exceptional phone & written relationship management and business engagement skills, with the ability to open and develop communication relationships with MD’s and senior director contacts and progress customers through defined customer journeys and with clear outputs.
You must possess a passion for customer service, with strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels in a variety of different media and an ability to listen and influence. Problem solving and strategic thinking is also a must.

Business Link has a number of opportunities to help provide a new in depth specialist business service to support ambitious businesses and social enterprises in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This is the latest approved project within the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) Convergence Programme. This new service is designed to increase productivity and competitiveness of local businesses on a national and international level and directly increase the economic prosperity of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
As a result of this new project, Business Link is now looking to recruit a number of roles.
Business Advisers - A variety of roles are available including Local Business Adviser covering the Camborne, Pool and Redruth, and St Austell and the Clay country, specialist innovation and environmental advisers, Network Advisers and Online Advisers. This team will provide the 'front-line' independent, impartial and comprehensive help and guidance to support businesses in driving performance and competitiveness.

Also as part of the Convergence project, two opportunities exist within the Marketing Team - Communications Co-ordinator who will be responsible for liaising with the media and press, the Partnership Office, internal staff, SWRDA staff and business networks and groups to ensure that effective Convergence communications are maintained. The second position is for a Marketing Manager - responsible for developing and managing a marketing strategy and activity in support of the Convergence Operational Programme and ensuring that the output and profile targets of the Programme are achieved.
